Recently 3Way Solutions provided a system of 240 AmOn decoders, including its orchestrator, for the distribution of HD TV signals from 8 regional channels in the interior of the Argentine Republic, to different cable operators in their regions where it was required to have content of high social and entertainment value, bringing a reduction in satellite costs that monetizes the investment in a very relevant way.
The system architecture is configured from a single centralizer that is located in the cloud, thus ensuring operational continuity and maximum connectivity to all points throughout the country.
The streams, in this case, arrive from the encoders located in the television channels in each of the cities and converge to a CDN (Akamai) from where they are distributed to each of the pay TV operators throughout the entire area of influence of the regional channel. To guarantee secure transport, the decoders connect to the CDN using an authentication token.
The system ensures transmission over the Internet, using protocols and methods to avoid small cuts and temporary bandwidth narrowings. Additionally, the decoders have connection and reconnection methods so that in the event of prolonged outages the system automatically reconnects. At the time of a disconnection, the decoder has an emergency file that is played cyclically until the connection is recovered.
It allows you to save between 60% and 95% on satellite costs.
